Mapping your domain is an important part of knight.domains; it reinforces the idea that you don’t necessarily need to host all your own applications. You should, however, be mindful of making your web presences part of a domain you control. If you would like to map a subdomain and have not yet created it, use this tutorial on creating subdomains<\/a> before proceeding. To map your domain, or a subdomain, to Blogger, use these steps:<\/p>\n

  1. Log in and navigate to your cPanel. Click the Search box<\/strong> at the top, right-hand corner and type \u201cDNS<\/abbr>\u201d (without the quotes).<\/li>\n
  2. Click on the Zone Editor<\/strong> icon.<\/li>\n
  3. Find the domain (or subdomain) you want to map to Blogger in the list and click Manage<\/strong>.\n

    Create a new CNAME<\/strong> record by clicking Add Record<\/strong>. To save, click Add Record.\"\"Keep this window open; you will need it in later steps.<\/div>\n<\/li>\n
  5. \n
    In a new window, go to the Blogger website, and login with your Blogger\/Google username and password.<\/div>\n<\/li>\n
  6. \n
    From your Blogger Dashboard, find the blog you’d like to use, expand the More Options<\/strong> menu, and click Settings<\/strong>.<\/div>\n<\/li>\n
  7. \n
    On the \u201cBasic Settings\u201d page, find the Publishing section, and click the Setup a 3rd party URL<\/abbr> for your blog<\/strong> link.<\/div>\n<\/li>\n

    Under Advanced Settings<\/strong>, type the full subdomain or domain you are mapping into the box, leave the Use missing files host?<\/strong> option set to No<\/strong>, then click Save<\/strong>.<\/div>\n<\/li>\n

    You will be presented with a message that your domain cannot be verified, along with information about your existing DNS<\/abbr> entry, and an additional DNS<\/abbr> entry that needs to be made. This is normal. Copy the second entry under the Name, Label, or Host entry<\/strong> to your clipboard.<\/div>\n<\/li>\n

    Go back to the window or tab containing the Zone Editor<\/strong> in your Knight Domains cPanel. Create another records by clicking Add a Record<\/strong>. Paste the text you just copied into the Name<\/strong> field. This information will be different for each domain. Set the TTL<\/strong> field to 14400, and the Type<\/strong> drop-down menu to CNAME<\/strong>. \"\"<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

      Go back to the window or tab containing the Blogger Advanced settings panel, and copy the second entry under the Destination, Target, or Points to<\/strong> column to your clipboard.<\/div>\n<\/li>\n

      Go back to the window or tab containing the Advanced DNS<\/abbr> Zone Editor<\/strong> in your knight.domains cPanel. In the Zone File Records<\/strong> section, find the domain you were editing Action<\/strong> for and paste the text you just copied into the CNAME<\/strong> field. This information will be different for each domain. Click Add record <\/strong>when you are done.<\/div>\n<\/li>\n

      Return to the window or tab containing the Blogger Advanced settings panel, and click Save<\/strong>.<\/div>\n<\/li>\n
    4. \n
      If everything was successful, your domain will now appear as the Blog Address<\/strong>. Keep in mind that it may take up to 72 hours for your domain or subdomain to correctly point all visitors to the correct location.<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
